Brief: Harry Winston unveils Precious Butterfly wristwatches
BY LESLIE JORDAN CLARY
Using the pigment from real butterfly wings, the new Harry Winston Premier Precious Butterfly automatic 36mm line of watches brings an iridescent burst of color to its dials. The meticulous process of harvesting the fragile powder from butterfly wings took Harry Winston artisans three years to develop. It’s the only substance used to paint the designs. As a result, each watch is as unique as one butterfly is from another. Royal blues and greens blend with warm reds and orange to create nature-inspired motifs. The timepieces are driven with a mechanical automatic movement that uses a silicon balance spring. The collection was unveiled recently at Baselworld.
