Brief: Coffee-table book showcases Cartier’s legendary jewels
Margaret Young-Sanchez’s Cartier in the 20th Century, published in October, thematically explores 100 years of Cartier’s exquisite jewels, smoking accessories, tiaras, and clocks. Drawing on Condé Nast and Cartier archives, the book features 300 color and black-and-white photographs evoking the spirit of old Hollywood glamour, Art Deco innovations, and other Cartier creations. The book includes photographs of jewelry owned by notable celebrities such as Princess Grace, Elizabeth Taylor, and the Duchess of Windsor. Founded in Paris in 1847, Cartier has sometimes been referred to as the “jeweler of royalty.”
